Hazelnut trees are those fruit-bearing trees that are extremely rare in many parts of the country, but highly appreciated.
The popularity of these trees is due to the delicious taste of hazelnuts and their beneficial effects on health if the fruits are consumed in moderate quantities. At the same time, hazelnut trees are very easy to grow, which makes them very popular in the areas of the country where they are frequently planted.
Given the ease with which these trees are planted and grown, any garden should have such a fruit tree, due to its beauty and the delicious taste of the hazelnuts grown in your own orchard.
Hazelnuts love shady areas and are therefore most often found at the edge of forests, near the beds of small rivers, and even in forests, well hidden in the shade of larger trees.
To plant hazelnuts, you don't need very fertile soil, but you will have to choose a shady area in your yard, as they don't like direct sunlight.
You will need to dig a hole in the shape of the pot the hazelnut sapling comes in, but about 5 cm wider in diameter. Then, remove the hazelnut from the pot and plant it in the ground. It is advisable to use a special planting shovel as the process will be simpler this way.
Once introduced into the ground, the hazelnut root, along with the soil from the pot it was in, must be covered completely with fresh soil to create the hole. Press down firmly on the area around the hazelnut to make sure there are no air pockets inside, as these will damage the root. Then start watering the hazelnut abundantly.
