The poinsettia is the star plant of this magical holiday due to its beauty. Its unique characteristic of changing leaf color makes it truly special, often being a delicate and appreciated gift. The poinsettia is also known as the Star of Christmas.

It is an ideal ornamental plant for decorating our homes or offices. It is the most popular holiday flower, with its leaves gradually turning red, usually at the beginning of December. There are also varieties with white, cream, or pink leaves.

It is relatively easy to care for as long as we respect a few factors that influence its development. It is not demanding when it comes to water and can even withstand a week without watering. However, I recommend watering it regularly (do not let the soil in the pot dry out!) with a small amount of water, preferably at room temperature.

It is preferable to keep the soil moist and avoid waterlogging in the tray under the pot.

For it to survive during the winter, it must be kept at temperatures no lower than 15 degrees Celsius. In winter, it is recommended to move it indoors and keep it at constant temperatures between 18 and 21 degrees, placed near a window preferably facing east or west.

Poinsettias do not like being moved from one place to another. Once purchased and brought into the home environment, choose a suitable location for them and keep it that way. It is preferable to avoid the windowsill (due to cold drafts during winter).

They also do not like excessive heat or strong air currents, so avoid areas near radiators, heaters, doors, or windows!
