Hong Kong is an international economic hub, and this factor, along with the astronomical sums of money circulating in this part of the world, also attracts a less pleasant social aspect: the fact that thousands of people are forced to live in miserable conditions.

Given that it is one of the wealthiest regions in Asia, many young people and families move to Hong Kong in an attempt to work for higher salaries, hoping for a better life.

Rental costs in Hong Kong are 35% higher than those in New York, and this aspect has led to the creation of blocks with very, very small apartments for families who cannot afford to pay a lot of money.

These apartments are only 12 square meters, and the China Human Rights Protection Organization has decided to launch a campaign on this issue to draw attention to the miserable conditions in which approximately 10,000 people working in Hong Kong are forced to live.
