Tired of the beige walls and damp orange furniture, the owners of this loft located in Toronto decided it was time for a décor change.
They turned to the architecture firm Red Design to develop a new plan for decorating this residence. They wanted the loft to look as airy and modern as possible, with a completely different vibe.
The team working on the project had to demolish everything possible without affecting the building's load-bearing structure, of course. Because the loft is located in a former warehouse, the rooms were designed to be longer than wide.

Efforts were made to make the loft appear more spacious and highly organized, focusing on simplicity and brightness.
The decor that was abandoned, consisting of beige walls, furniture, and oak wood flooring, was very "cluttered" and everything seemed very suffocating. The designers chose to paint the walls white to highlight the laminate flooring and other elements well.
The fireplace is purely ornamental, adding a touch of warmth and a familial atmosphere to the entire living space. The ductwork used to construct the shelves gives the decor an industrial "vibe." These shelves are occupied with collections of vintage cameras, photo albums, and books.
Clients expressly requested that wood and metal be used in the shelving arrangement. They wanted the loft to have a "fresh", welcoming, and clean feel. The designers respected these requirements and added those frames from pipes for the shelves, as well as that ventilation duct that runs through the entire room.
The kitchen has been completely renovated, with the old furniture replaced by white minimalist cabinets. The bathroom follows the same minimalist style, shining through its simplicity and brightness.
