I met Lulu at inM OD ELi ER, which I was telling you about a while ago, while she was crafting a bouquet of flowers.

We liked her so much that we decided to sit down with her and ask her to tell us the story of her online flower and floral arrangement boutique, Lulus Deco Boutique, which she built herself (and which will soon open its doors offline on Calea Floreasca and we invite you to visit) and give us some tips on plant care.

1. When was Lulu’s Deco Boutique born and what did it start from?

I think it started many years ago, even when I was a child. I still remember my first bouquet; I was probably 6-7 years old. I went to the garden behind the house, a garden full of daisies and baby's breath (since I've been working in the field, I've learned that it's called gypsophila), and for the first time, I created a bouquet, which seemed superb to me.

I have loved flowers for as long as I can remember, and this is thanks to my father who is passionate about horticulture; we have two gardens full of flowers at our house in the countryside, and every spring we used to make bouquets of snowdrops, daffodils or hyacinths and give them as gifts to neighbors or teachers.

However, Lulu’s Deco Boutique appeared for the first time in December. Two years ago, I was lucky enough (although at the time I didn't consider it luck) to get a job at a flower shop, where I learned a lot about flowers, their names, the technique of arranging flowers in a bouquet and floral arrangements, and other florist secrets.

After leaving there, I got a job in a completely different field, but I continued to make bouquets and arrangements for my friends, and that's how I decided to create a Facebook page to promote myself.

I didn't plan anything specific, but everything came naturally. In February, I found a very nice location, an old house on Calea Floreasca, which I transformed into a workshop and will soon become a shop as well.

2. What can we find at Lulu’s Deco Boutique?

At the moment, you can only order flowers. But with the opening of the store, we will also have plants, pots, garden accessories, paintings, handmade accessories, and vintage furniture reconditioned.

3. What are your favorite flowers?

I like all flowers; there are very few that I don't like at all (especially lilies). But if I had to choose, daisies would be in first place (because of the story from my childhood, but also because they are the simplest flowers), followed by anemones, ranunculus and peonies.

4. Which are the most "moody" plants, the hardest to maintain?

In my opinion, the hardest to maintain is bonsai. If you buy it from a flower shop and put it in an environment that is not suitable for it, water it too much, don't inform yourself how to take care of it or simply ignore it, then it will dry out and will never recover.
