Regardless of the space you have available, the kitchen should be a place that brings us joy for all of us, where we can cook with pleasure and share meals with loved ones. Today's arrangement, bearing the signature of Manuel Saliche, embodies the traits of the ideal kitchen in just 6 square meters. Let's see how he succeeded.
The apartment this kitchen belongs to belongs to a young couple from Bucharest who wanted a modern, original design that would meet their needs while maintaining a moderate budget.
The small space of the kitchen was a challenge for Manuel, who had to adapt to the requirements and especially the existing configuration. Thus, the furniture was made to order, and its compact structure does not clutter the space. We also like the idea of the sink mounted at the window and a continuous worktop in the shape of an L.
Thus, the space is well optimized, and the bar that functions as a dining area is an excellent idea that supports the economy of the room.
The household appliances (refrigerator, oven, hob, hood, dishwasher) are incorporated into the furniture, some of them being out of sight (the refrigerator).
As for the finishes, materials were chosen to convey naturalness and brightness.
For the furniture, Manuel opted for a mix between painted MDF (ivory shade) and oak-nature veneer plywood, a trendy combination that is aesthetically pleasing. The floor was paved with tiles imitating wood to continue the natural theme of the furniture pieces.
The neutral chromatic palette was complemented by contrasting elements such as light green glossy tiles between the upper and lower cabinets, as well as yellow upholstered chairs. The color palette inspires a feeling of well-being, relaxation, as if we were in the middle of nature.
Small accessories and decorations come to complete the space of a kitchen that is as simple as it is beautiful and above all functional.
