X-duplex is a project story signed by the Pure Mess Design team. The concept is based on the idea of balance and contrast, aiming to create a dynamic yet balanced space for two beneficiaries who like different styles. The duplex apartment is located in Otopeni; it has been furnished modern, fresh, in an optimistic and delicate note.
Each area has its own "wow element"; the avoidance as much as possible of spaces that lose their charm over time was desired.
Open Gallery Lemon-citron is the dominant color in this design. The shade was chosen as a middle ground between the beneficiaries' favorite colors: mustard yellow and green.
How can these two elements take shape under the same roof? Through a unitary design that supports this concept. We created a fusion of two complementary styles, opting for a mix of classic inserts, dressed in minimalist design elements.
The main space of the design is composed of a generous living area, kitchen and a work zone (thoughtfully minimalist and well-defined), all approaching different styles and color palettes.
Kitchen is made up of two well-defined zones: a furniture line and a worktop with generous storage and a double sink, and an island bar zone, the cooking area, in the extension of which there is the dining place.
The cooking area is outlined by abstracted marble, where we have installed a hob with a built-in hood, continuing opposite the island zone formed by a monobloc concrete countertop, from which the oak wood plate with all details visible is attached.
The fixed part of the kitchen is composed of a massive soldier made of MDF painted white, and on its side, above the sink, we have designed storage spaces made of veneer oak. This assembly is supported by lateral verticals that frame the fronts; the atypical detail is made of 1 cm painted MDF and was created to provide depth to the space.
Customization and the realization of pieces on order play an essential role in the story of this design. From the chevron pattern parquet, whose pieces were specially cut by CNC according to the necessary dimensions, to all upholstered furniture and storage spaces.
