Looking for inspiration to decorate your kitchen? Here's a wonder I found today for you: a makeover of small kitchen with before and after images.

Lydia and her partner personally oversaw the kitchen renovation, resulting in a highly successful project that perfectly suits their taste.

They started by painting the walls a new color, replacing the lime green they no longer felt at home in. They also replaced the laminate flooring. Feeling the need for a change, they confidently embarked on the redecoration project. It was an adventure that lasted longer than they anticipated, but every step brought them satisfaction that the project was heading in the right direction.

They haven't changed the furniture, but the overall modifications have transformed the kitchen into a new one.

The walls were painted white, and the fronts of the cupboards, previously cream-colored, were painted a light gray. They followed the same approach with the handles. Instead of laminate, they opted for ceramic plates that imitated wood because they are easier to clean and more resistant in kitchen spaces, where grease stains can irreparably damage laminate flooring.

Additionally, the textured wood effect and darker shade add a touch of style to the decor, as you can see in the images above.

To enhance the luminosity of the worktop, they opted to add spotlights on either side of the kitchen, and the niches where they were installed were painted grey, contrasting with the white ceiling.

To add extra interest to the design, Lydia decided to create an accent zone with bricks that she herself drew on the surface between the suspended cabinets and the worktop. A cheap solution with maximum impact!

Another change they desired was a new door with a window to allow natural light into the hallway even when the kitchen door is closed.

Every kitchen needs a dining spot even in a small space; the two found an optimal solution that integrates perfectly into the recently renovated space. They found a suspended table at IKEA which they fixed to the wall and 2 bar stools. Then, they completed the decor with decorative plates (from H&M Home) that wonderfully complement the decor.

The new kitchen evokes Scandinavian interiors, with subtle industrial influences reflected in various accessories, from the grey of the furniture to the idea of exposed brickwork and the new lighting fixtures (which were also replaced, as the old chandelier was completely out of place in the new context).

We hope this layout inspires you and that the ideas you find here are helpful for your own kitchen!
