For this apartment renovation, the team from Boho Studio from Poland received a few clear instructions from the young beneficiary: an open space kitchen with an island, a modern and functional design with color accents.

The 42 square meter area is divided into two rooms, with a living area and bedroom. Since the rooms are limited in size, the young woman sought the help of the designer to guide her towards the right arrangement for her needs. As her budget was limited, the space was furnished with only the essentials.

Removing the wall from the living room enlarged the kitchen space, making the room overall appear more spacious and brighter. With the new configuration, the two functions are visually delimited by the kitchen island and the dining area well placed in its continuation.

The living area was outlined minimally to make everything seem as airy and fluid as possible. To this end, furniture pieces on legs were chosen (see the sofa, bookcase or TV stand) so as not to be perceived as very massive in the overall arrangement.

To increase storage space, the designers integrated a tall wardrobe into the living room, right next to the sofa. Being white and placed against a white wall, it does not overload the space. A small workspace was also introduced in this perimeter, with a white desk on wooden frames and a black chair.

The same mix of black and white was used for the kitchen in appropriate proportions. The island-type unit increases functionality through optimal integration of the cooking area plus additional storage. The play of decorative tiles at floor level is discreetly echoed by the fronts of the hanging cabinets.

Black accents add depth to the arrangement, taking it out of the monotonous white zone.

For the bedroom, the layout follows the same minimalist line, limited in this case by the reduced dimensions of the room. However, a bed with a headboard incorporating small storage areas and wardrobes for clothes could be integrated. The walls around the bed were painted halfway with a pleasant blue intended to distract attention from the existing small space.

In the bathroom space, everything was optimized as much as possible. A shower cabin was chosen instead of a bathtub, and the glass walls ensure transparency so that it is not perceived as an object occupying space.
