The recently completed project, Studio Pop, involves a 30 square meter studio apartment that has been completely renovated and furnished for a young woman who desired a bright, modern space with subtle pops of color and the resolution of all technical issues.
Being located in an older building, it was necessary to replace the utilities, rewire the electrical system, replace the degraded joinery and flooring, and strip the walls. All the work took 6 weeks and was a sustained effort to give this studio apartment a new face.
The space consists of a long, narrow hallway, a main room with very little natural light, and a small bathroom. Therefore, Hajni opted for a minimalist design with natural finishes and white furniture. To create a warm and atypical hallway, she clad one wall and the ceiling in triple-layered parquet flooring, while choosing travertine for the floor.
The room incorporates three important functions: sofa and sleeping area, kitchen area, and workspace. To create a sense of unity, Hajni chose the same wood texture throughout, from the floor to the kitchen countertop, bar, bookcase, desk, and even the sliding door. The team at Parchet pe viata handled all the installation work.
The kitchen follows the same minimalist and compact design line, with all appliances built-in to keep everything organized and unified. As an accent between the furniture units, turquoise was chosen, one of the beneficiary's favorite colors; the area was painted with a suitable washable paint for wet areas from Ton Corner.
Storage areas were symmetrically arranged on either side of the sofa, the central piece of the room; it was custom-made at Canapele Eco and is extendable to transform into a sleeping area.
For the small bathroom space, the idea of natural finishes continued with travertine cladding, while the furniture remained white. Electric underfloor heating was installed throughout the studio apartment.
