Opening the GalleryYoung beneficiaries wanted a functional home, modernly furnished, with a spacious kitchen and enough storage space. The surface area of 60 square meters and the age of the apartment were a challenge for Simona. The renovation was complex and involved replacing all installations, joinery, doors, and flooring.
The pantry between the hallway and the kitchen was removed, and the resulting space was designed as a technical and storage area: there, the washing machine and vacuum cleaner were incorporated.
Simona opted for simple-line, functional furniture to meet the family's needs. The wardrobes for clothes and not only were desired to be as tall as possible, up to the ceiling, to create the impression of height and increase the storage space used. They also faced difficulties here because the ceilings were sloping and required extra work.
It was worth the effort because in the end everyone was delighted with the result.
One of the wishes they had was the integration of gray and red into the design, so all the decor was built around this combination. We find it in the kitchen - see the red upholstered chairs and the main cabinets with a gray finish; in the living room at the level of the 2 sofas or in the bathroom.
The chromatic accents are tempered by neutral shades and the natural essences of wood. The space is thus balanced, and the red is well highlighted.
The kitchen is spacious, open to the living room. Built-in appliances and milled handles of the cabinets ensure a unitary character of the arrangement.
The furniture in the living room reminds us of the retro style. Raising by legs of the furniture pieces creates the impression of more space at floor level. The space thus seems more fluid and airier. Excellent trick to apply in small rooms! The geometric play of the living room rug brings an extra dynamism to the room, respecting the gray theme.
