How can you achieve a functional layout in 43 square meters for a couple? You can find the answer by following the project we chose to present to you today.
The limited space of the apartment and the need for a coherent and functional design led these young people to consult with a designer about the desired modifications. The result will be detailed below.
The two beneficiaries needed a living area and, importantly, a comfortable bedroom with appropriate storage for both partners. Then, they wanted the living area to be a socializing space, a place to spend time with family and friends. Therefore, they embraced the idea of an open-space kitchen and, necessarily, a dining area that could also be considered a living room.
The designer thus conceived a multifunctional room. Thus, we will find a kitchen, a dining area, and a small living room, with a sofa and a TV area. Although it may seem cramped, each function is well highlighted and somehow visually delimited through the positioning of the furniture. Of all of them, the kitchen is best utilized.
The arrangement on two sides of the room was the key to solving the layout of the living area. On one side we have the cooking and washing area, and on the other side, the rest of the appliances, all built-in. The upper cabinets arranged on both sides of the kitchen ensure efficient storage areas.
To make the entire space as bright as possible, the designer opted for a mix of light colors but also accents of blue which add a touch of dynamism to the room. Artificial lighting also plays a crucial role through the variety of integrated fixtures, from general ones to accent lights designed to ensure uniform lighting for every corner.
In the sleeping area, the space is treated minimally and divided into two functions: on one side, there is a workspace with a desk, and delimited by a glass partition, the bedroom. Storage space is evenly distributed on the wall with the TV, offering the necessary spaces for clothes.
