Suitable for a couple, this apartment has been designed to create a functional, comfortable and modern space. Small spaces can sometimes limit our choices when it comes to a modern or comfortable design, but the layout of this apartment shows us exactly what we need to consider in order not to miss out on these elements.
Opening the GalleryWith only 44 square meters, the living room and kitchen are open space, separated only by half a wall. In the same idea of creating space, a game of symmetries was used between the floor and walls, applying wooden veneers. The vertical and horizontal stripes on the veneers are not accidental, they give dimension, visually extending the walls.
Furthermore, the designers placed large mirrors in key points, reflecting the rooms and thus giving the impression of a larger space. The walls that lead to the other rooms were left white, as were the doors, to create a unified image.
The colors were chosen in harmony with the materials. Thus, in the living room, the natural aspect of the wood is continued by the natural gray and brown colors of the sofa, rug and curtains. The decor is simple and minimal, to avoid a cluttered look.
In the kitchen, materials that imitate granite were chosen, while in the bathroom and bedroom the walls are covered entirely with artificial stone materials. These give a restful look and continue the concept throughout the entire apartment. In these rooms as well, the minimalist decor style and natural colors of white, brown and beige have been maintained.
In a small-sized apartment, we need to consider smart storage spaces that meet two requirements: they should not take up much space and be spacious. The furniture in this apartment meets both. The dressing room in the bedroom is built into the wall, and on the hallway, also in the wall, a group of open or closed shelves with doors.
The minimalist style is also reflected in the metallic details of the lighting fixtures or even the switches and door handles. Not to be overlooked is the living room table created from geometric shapes made of glass and metal.
Lighting plays an important role. Numerous and with a modern design, they accentuate key areas in the rooms: the dining area in the living room, the relaxation area, the kitchen, the passage to the kitchen. In the bedroom, they are found above the bedside tables and dressing table, but also recessed into the wooden structure above the bed.
