We all enjoy relaxing in our bedrooms at the end of a long workday. Many of us barely have time to skim a book; most often we fall asleep too quickly to even notice the decor surrounding us during our relaxation hours. Either it doesn't seem important, or we've become so accustomed to its mundane appearance that we fail to realize it's time for a change.
For the most conservative among us, a safe option is to use an all-white color scheme for the decor. White walls accompanied by a large dressing in the same color can create an airy and practical effect at the same time. A few decorative elements: a painting, some vases, books, or even plants will add a personalized touch.
Combining colors can create a pleasing chromatic palette. Green and purple in various tones and shades complement each other harmoniously. Use them either on one wall, or for the pillows on the bed, or even a round rug near the bed. Whichever option you choose, it will surely liven up the atmosphere in your bedroom. The same effect can be achieved with a warm yellow, like the summer sun.
Large, tall windows covered with imposing drapes can also constitute an interesting change. Special attention should be paid to lighting. Opt for a scheme of soft lights that complement the decor harmoniously and above all provide a feeling of relaxation.
Don't exclude multifunctional furniture. You will gain more storage space and even extra space for enjoyable activities: a desk where you can read or create handmade objects.
Shades of gray will bring a sophisticated touch to the bedroom, which you can soften with a colorful rug and a dynamic motif.
If space allows you to decorate an attic bedroom, don't hesitate! It will become your favorite place for reading and gazing at the stars at night through Velux windows.
