This apartment is located in the resort town of Royan, in southwestern France, an area known for its high-society residents. Architect Florence Deau oversaw the remodeling of this apartment, and the result can be described with words such as: elegant, white, relaxed. Looking at the images, we are transported into a vacation atmosphere.

Impressive at this apartment is the curved glass facade, accompanied by a large balcony overlooking the sea. The architect created an ambiance inspired by the 1950s that is adapted for today, without overloading the decor with jarring details.

The style could be described as eclectic with some minimalist accents. In the living room, we can see a fireplace integrated into a limestone wall. Some partition walls have been removed to achieve that open-space feeling.

The designer kept the white walls to let the details speak for themselves; the white creates a sense of spaciousness and highlights the other colors. This way, rooms can be filled with color provided by textiles, accessories, or furniture, complementing the white areas.

The furniture pieces range in style from contemporary to antique, and he insisted on this mix to give the interior design an original touch.

For the bathrooms, faucets from a German manufacturer were used with ceramic sinks from Ikea. In the living room, a Balthasar sofa was placed in combination with an English coffee table, a Lalique crystal ashtray, and a wrought iron lighting fixture that the architect found in the building and restored.
