Both natural and artificial light definitively influence the furnishing of a home. In a small apartment, they are even more important as light amplifies space. Today we have chosen an apartment configured in 2 rooms, 43 square meters, where the furnishing emphasizes lights and natural materials, all intended to increase the comfort of this small home.
The focus was on creating a living room with an open-plan kitchen and dining area, all harmoniously integrated into the concept. A palette of neutral colors predominates, with different wood essences that give the home a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The apartment is inhabited by a single person who does not cook very often. However, the kitchen furnishing includes the minimum necessary to have everything at hand: sufficient storage and common appliances.
It is a minimalist kitchen, with furniture in which we find a mix between wood and white; the colored glass panel reflects natural light, being a choice that is increasingly opted for, as we detailed here. LED strips provide additional lighting needed when preparing food. The bar counter for quick snacks visually separates the cooking area from the rest of the room.
The minimalist theme continues in the living room area, with built-in cabinets and a console for the television, along with a corner sofa, suitable in this context.
The lighting fixtures are true decorative objects that enhance the spaces where they are integrated: the 3 pendant lights above the bar counter, the fixture above the living room table or the lamp in the hallway. Ambient lighting provided by recessed spotlights or LED strips that provide indirect light contribute to creating different scenarios depending on the desired context.
The natural decor theme, with a wood finish, is also taken up in the bedroom. Here, the wall with the bed is accentuated by cladding it with zebrano wood veneer. Together with ambient lighting, a pleasant and relaxing effect is created. A desk was also arranged here, along with a wardrobe with sliding doors for storing clothes.
The minimalist lines of the furniture allow the texture of the wood to stand out. Wood is also found in the composition of the cabinets under the sink in the bathroom. Being suspended, they allow for additional storage underneath.
