The designer Georgiana Ursache Today we propose the design of a 3-room apartment in Bucharest, with natural accents and a focus on functionality.

As the space was intended for rental, the owner desired a practical yet comfortable and relaxing layout. Georgiana therefore proposed a nature-inspired concept to counterbalance the urban noise from the nearby boulevard.

The work was extensive; the old walls needed to be straightened and plastered, the original flooring was uncovered, and the old doors and windows were replaced. The new parquet flooring comes in a light-colored wood essence, so that alongside white it amplifies the space.

For furniture, pieces were selected from Mobexpert and a producer in Bacău, Luxart&mob.

Since the apartment is also visited by foreign tourists, Georgiana came up with the idea of incorporating traditional motifs into the design, and what better place than the kitchen. The furniture here is made from beech stratified wood, which we find in the composition of the countertop, wall, and table, offering continuity and visual unity.

The inlaid brau in the furniture converses with the wall sticker (from Cai verzi pe pereti), a stylized Romanian brau that ingeniously decorates the wall. The brau has shades of green, just like the upholstery of the bench in the dining area. A functional and ergonomic kitchen was achieved, which benefits from abundant natural light.

For the living area, shades inspired by nature were chosen, with a soft, comfortable and relaxing color scheme. The wall with the television was clad in slate, creating an accent zone, and the radiator was concealed with a wooden grille. Zaza Light luminaires pleasantly punctuate the spaces and give them personality.
