Choosing a television doesn't have to be difficult! At least that's what we discovered when testing Philips' new series 8 televisions, aptly named "The One".
Although the television is well-known and appreciated in the gaming community due to its technical specifications (a 120Hz refresh rate and low latency for any next-generation console), we were captivated from the start by the design of this television which practically has no frame. Moreover, the beautiful geometric legs give the impression that the screen is actually floating in the air.
Our state of captivation intensified once we turned it on! The LEDs on the edges of the television (the technology is called Ambilight – and it's only present on certain Philips televisions) light up and change color in perfect synchronization with the colors of the action on the screen – or with the music.
The light is so warm and captivating that we quickly wondered how we would ever watch another television without it.
