Sequoia trees are probably the most fascinating in the whole world, due to their extremely long lifespan and impressive heights that reach for the sky! Although they are specific to the North American continent, being very rarely found elsewhere, sequoia trees grow optimally in our country as well!

Considering that these giants of nature can live for thousands of years and can reach up to 145 meters in height and a trunk circumference of up to 38 meters, it is certainly a choice you should make when it comes to planting.

Of course, you won't be able to see this tree in all its glory in one lifetime, but it can be a real family heritage for future generations to take care of, passing on the history of a particular place or that of your family.

The area where they are most widespread stretches for 750 km in length and 75 km in width, along the entire Pacific Ocean coast of California, United States of America, at altitudes ranging from 0 to 900 m.

The tallest sequoia in the world is called Hyperion and measures 115.55 m, estimated to be around 2150 years old.

Another magnificent tree is "General Sherman", located in Sequoia National Park in California, which measures 83.8 m, has a circumference of 31.3 m and has approximately 1486 cubic meters, enough to build 40 wooden houses, each with 5 rooms.

In our country, sequoia trees can be found in Carol Park in Bucharest, Oradea, Rogojel in Cluj, Simeria and Ardusat in Maramureș, Ploiești and Azuga, and recently they have also been planted in Buzău, Clinceni in Ilfov County and Baile Herculane. Oradea is the city with the most sequoias in Romania, totaling 3 specimens.
