In a playful manner reminiscent of Salvador Dali's melting clocks, Chilean artist Livia Marin, currently based in London, has created interesting porcelain pieces that give the impression of dripping and melting.

The unique collection of porcelain objects is called "Nomad Patterns" and includes items such as vases, cups, and teapots. All of them look as if they are melting and also make us think of ice cream that has been left out in the sun for too long.

According to the artist's official website, her work focuses on exploring how we humans relate to material objects in an era dominated by mass production, standardization, and global circulation.

The entire series of porcelain pieces is based on traditional Chinese decorations and motifs. As can be seen, a great deal of skill and attention to detail must have been required, as the symbols and decorations are very small. These include willow trees, birds, and pagodas.

Livia Marin is not the only artist who has ventured into the classic world of porcelain (which many of us consider to be our grandparents' art) and tried to do something new and unique with it. Evelyn Bracklow created antique porcelain pieces "on which ants crawl," while Johnson Tsang is known for his creations of living ceramic art, dedicated to a modern audience.

The porcelain objects created by the artist are not usable and serve only as decorative items because they are not whole.
