We have an acute need for green spaces. The more we have, the better it is for us and for the environment that surrounds us. The first step to bringing more greenery around us is landscaping our apartment balcony.

Opening GaleriaInspirati after a visit to the Greenfield residential complex, we realized that being surrounded by green space brings us multiple benefits that enhance the quality of living. Referring strictly to the extension of an apartment, more precisely to a balcony or terrace, we understand that through this space we can create a connection with the outdoors which we can cultivate in various ways.

Therefore, I have compiled 5 useful tips on how we could furnish a balcony or terrace.

Be mindful of the space's circulation.

Types of Plants

Choose dwarf shrubs that only require one pruning per year and do not need complicated care.

Another helpful tip is to create rows of plants, the first consisting of seasonal plants, and the rest composed of evergreen ones. Examples of plants and shrubs: photina, olive bushes, Ilex aquifolium known as holly or ilex, yew (taxus baccata), viburnum (calin or bulgarasi) and ferns in shadier corners.

Avoid bamboo which tends to invade space and choose miscanthus (Chinese reed).
