The designers at K Studio were given the opportunity to create a unique project: a bar-lounge-restaurant called Rakkan, in Athens.

Located in the Mela shopping center, on an area of 400 square meters, the building is considered a landmark in interior design; the bar-restaurant is unique in terms of aesthetics; its specificity is an unprecedented fusion between international cuisines.

A very important part of the building is the wooden roof which was entirely built in Greece and is made up of 9500 handmade wooden boxes whose placement took more than a month. For the floor and vertical surfaces, resistant materials such as granite slabs, solid wood and Kpurasanit paint were used.

Every part of the restaurant received the attention it deserved. The lighting consists of a group of focused lights and LEDs to illuminate the wooden decoration on the ceiling and at the bar. A special study was conducted and work was done to make the sound exceptional both at the bar and in the restaurant, using insulating materials.

Ventilation and air conditioning were designed to function even when all frames are opened in summer or winter. The kitchen was designed in collaboration with renowned chef Joe Kurauchi to ensure that all his needs are met and that he can make the most of the space.
