Designed for a young couple, designer Anna Smolyakova managed to integrate all the necessary areas of a functional home into this 23 square meter apartment. Using the Scandinavian style with pastel colors and neutral tones, she gave the space personality.
Open Gallery The kitchen, dining area, living room, bedroom, and a small study area form an open space that communicates very well. All are designed and furnished in detail to benefit from every square centimeter. It may seem surprising, but all these living areas fit into just 16 square meters.
The project author tells us that "every detail has its function, which transforms the interior into a single organism where all elements are logically interconnected.
The aesthetic and functional details of this design are a striking example of the multiple solutions for furnishing a small space. A unitary concept and the rhythm of the elements used constitute the basis of the design for small spaces.
Among the advantages of these small apartments are affordability for young people and the possibility of implementing modern furnishing ideas and solutions.
The color palette used is typical of the Scandinavian style, with neutral, natural, warm colors. The background shades are open and calm; contrasted by small inserts of natural grays, green, and peach-orange.
Concrete texture, gray tones, gold accessories, textured rugs add variety to the design. The rhythm of vertical elements gives the space proportions a necessary balance while dark gray accents create contrast.
Different lighting scenarios were proposed in the design. Thus, recessed spotlights in the ceiling constitute the main source of general lighting. Wall sconces in the bed area and a pendant lamp above the table are used for accent lighting.
The bed built into a niche is separated from the kitchen by a rhythm of wooden slats, ribbing that gives it intimacy while still allowing natural light to flood the entire space. With a folding slatted base, the bed has an extremely useful hidden storage.
