The concept of designing this Moscow apartment for a young family is based on the desire to create a relaxing and welcoming space that inspires harmony.

Implementing these ideas was achieved through a contemporary style approach with classical influences (classical details at the level of profiles, cornices, plinths, and lighting fixtures) and the choice of a color palette characterized by the balance between warm and cool tones.

The key ingredient in the design is the use of shades of blue, the color of serenity and spirituality, both as a background and as an accent, either plain or as part of prints.

The apartment is divided as follows: a common living room and kitchen area, an entrance hall, a spacious bathroom, and two bedrooms. Considering the small sizes of each room, every square meter has been carefully utilized.

Thus, the kitchen is delimited from the living room by the dining area, the balcony in the master bedroom has been closed and transformed into a small office, furniture pieces are limited to the essentials, and the designer has opted for built-in furniture to maximize the use of resulting niches.

Classical influences in the design of the living room and kitchen

The living room conveys a warm, welcoming atmosphere, a space dedicated to family relaxation. The emphasis was on comfort and creating optimal circulation. We find the combination of warm colors with cool ones, represented by pleasant shades of blue; the matte white of the ceiling and the creamy satin shade of the walls are highlighted by the intense blue of the corner sofa.

This, through its color and shape, stands out as a true gravitational center of the entire house. Parallel to the classic model of the skirting board and cornice, applied on the wall-ceiling junction area, we also find classical influences in the curtains with triple rail and end ornaments.

To save space and contribute to the stylistic vision of the design, two coffee tables (Eichholtz brand) of different heights were used. The wall in front of the sofa was furnished with a set of two cabinets and a dresser with classic details, arranged symmetrically with respect to the axis of the television, serving as display and storage for tableware and decorative objects.

The imprint of the classical style is best read in the kitchen area, at the level of furniture. The MDF milled cabinet fronts with classic profiling are contrasted by modern built-in appliances. The mosaic above the worktop, in pastel shades of blue, seems to take over the pattern of the living room rug, thus homogenizing the entire space.

Pastel shades of blue in the master bedroom

The master bedroom is designed as a continuation of the living room, maintaining the same stylistic line. We find the same type of solid wood parquet flooring and the interplay of shades of blue, from the lighter tones of the walls and rug to the more saturated ones of decorative objects. The radiator was concealed with a classic patterned radiator cover, painted in the same white shade as the skirting board.
