When you desire both a living room and a bedroom, but the space available is limited to a single main room, you can consider a compromise solution: partitioning to create a new room. Here's one such arrangement realized in 37 square meters.
Because the space is small, the approach was as simple as possible. It relied on light colors and finishes reminiscent of nature, all to achieve a comfortable and pleasant ambiance despite the reduced dimensions.
Stylistically, the space embraces minimalism, with rooms receiving only the strictly necessary pieces, without overloading the arrangement. The living area receives plenty of natural light, which makes the room appear more spacious. Green tones and oak wood essences found in the flooring and furniture contribute to creating a welcoming and warm atmosphere.
The bookcase in the living room was custom-made to fit the reduced dimensions of the room; mirror inserts in the open shelves enhance the effect of widening the space.
The kitchen area is open plan with the living room, practically located towards the hallway. The transition is subtle, the delimitation being visual and perceived at the level of the false ceiling that also incorporates some of the light fixtures, ensuring uniform lighting for the space.
Compact and linear, the kitchen offers the essentials for cooking and dining. White fronts were used for the upper cabinets to increase the brightness of this area. Appliances are built-in to keep everything unified and organized, and the table is ingeniously placed as an integral part of the kitchen unit.
The main storage of the home is located in the hallway in the form of a dressing room with sliding doors and mirrored panels. Again, the effect of enlarging the space makes the hallway appear larger than it actually is.
Since the created bedroom has a reduced surface area and no access to natural light, narrow windows were installed in the upper part of the partition wall. This way, the room receives light from the living room. A small storage area was also created here – suspended cabinets above the bed, covered with mirrors.
