The arrangement of a home should primarily aim for functionality so that the family's needs are met. Subsequently, the stylistic part follows, where finishes and decorations will complete this landscape of living.
Open the GalleryFor today, we found a 60 square meter apartment, where a family of two parents and three children lives. Initially, it had a structure of 2 rooms (living room and bedroom), but after the family acquired it, it had to undergo a complex refurbishment and functional conversions.
The kitchen location was moved so that a new room could be created, and the hallway narrowed. An open space option was chosen to include the living area – living room, dining room, and kitchen, this new configuration optimizing the space and increasing functionality.
The decor maintains a minimalist tone, with only the strictly necessary furniture pieces, without anything unnecessarily burdening the space. Thus, the living room benefits from natural light and efficient circulation, the functions being designed to meet the family's basic needs. The conversation area includes only a sofa and a sideboard as support for the television.
As storage solutions, suspended shelves were designed whose arrangement leaves the impression of a three-dimensional structure; the dining area includes a simple table with chairs made of the same material, and the built-in bookcase provides additional storage.
From the living room, you enter the matrimonial bedroom (formerly the kitchen), which is interestingly separated by a semi-transparent glass door, thus allowing the living room to receive more natural light and enhance the feeling of spaciousness.
The initial bedroom is now the children's room with two bunk beds and space for a desk (one of the brothers being school-aged) and, of course, for play.
The predominantly neutral color scheme with plenty of white, pleasant wood essences, and discreet textures obtained through the finishes used, supports the minimalist concept that underlies this arrangement.
