Small spaces are a challenge for any designer: you have to literally combine the useful with the pleasant. The goal is the functionality of the room and the aesthetic image effect. Organization involves using every centimeter we have available, but still being careful not to overload the room.
The kitchen is one of the challenges we want to address today. We start by outlining a few directions in terms of what kitchen storage means.
The kitchen is one of the areas of the house where no matter how much space you have, you always need storage and organization. It's important to know how to relate to your space and what you want from it. If the kitchen is small, everything is at hand. Now it remains to organize them so that cooking becomes a pleasure.
Today we present two ideas that can be implemented from the project phase of the kitchen and 5 ideas that can come as a complement even if the kitchen is already furnished.
If you haven't designed your kitchen furniture yet, you could consider the option where under the dining area, more precisely under the corner, you disguise a series of drawers used for storing dishes. The drawers must be arranged so that they can be opened even when the table is being served, without any inconvenience.
When planning unfinished furniture, you also need to think about a storage space for cleaning supplies. The kitchen is indeed a place where you always have something to wipe, sweep and wash, so it wouldn't hurt to have all these things close at hand. You can use any "soldier" incorporated into the kitchen furniture to which you attach a small cupboard.
If the "soldier" opens in front, the cupboard should open sideways, so that the solutions, broom and mop can be hidden.
But what do we do when the kitchen is already furnished and we realize that we need a few more additions? Below you will find some ideas on how to organize jars, food and even spices in an unusual and practical way.
Even though they have been used for a very long time, magnet-based systems are very practical. You can stick a magnetic strip anywhere in the kitchen from which to hang spice jars, teas, oils.
Also for food storage, you can use an existing support cabinet to which you add a frame on the side, into which you insert a number of mini shelves. The newly created space can be used for identical-looking jars but not in content. Even though they are visible, you can access them quickly, forming a quirky and colorful tableau.
Another storage option is the use of dosing tubes similar to those found in supermarkets for cereals, pasta, rice. In addition to being stored in a creative way, the cereals will no longer be scattered on the floor, and at the same time you know when to go shopping.
For dishes, we suggest modifying the existing interior shelves of the cabinets. Introduce grids similar to those of dishwashers inside the cabinets. We know that when we want to wash dishes we need a machine with well-thought-out compartments so that we can put in as much tableware as possible.
