This year we aim to bring you, our readers, as much Romanian design as possible. In previous articles you were able to follow projects created by Miso Architects and Jooca Studio, and today we've invited Irina from I specialize in interior design and decoration.Let's hear more about her latest completed project, a studio apartment transformed into a two-bedroom apartment. Here's what we found out:
Beneficiary opened Galeria, a 35-year-old man who desired a reconfiguration of the 43 square meter space into two rooms: a living room and a bedroom for increased privacy. To achieve this, it was necessary to relocate the kitchen to the hallway, reduce the size of the bathroom, and modify all installations to obtain the new functions.
Initially, there were wasted and underutilized spaces, despite the apartment being spacious and bright.
Irina proposed a modern, functional design with Scandinavian influences, easy to maintain, featuring wooden elements, white furniture, and enhanced luminosity.
The entire space underwent a complete renovation lasting approximately two months. All installations (heating, plumbing, electrical) were replaced and integrated with new, modern finishes, such as epoxy resin.
Because she needed to obtain two rooms from a small space, Irina chose a self-leveling floor without transition profiles or interruptions between the rooms, achieving a welcome visual continuity for this project.
The chromatic arrangement is cheerful and colorful, with a neutral base of white and anthracite gray, enhanced by yellow accents and wood inserts applied to the furniture fronts. Thus, in the living room, a yellow sofa was chosen, contrasting with the blue epoxy resin floor (applied with the help of the Epoxy Studio team).
The exposed brick wall imprinted an industrial feel on the space, while the log used as a side table completed the series of special accessories.
The furniture was made by Euphorica Design according to Irina's sketches, the sofa was purchased from Mobila Dalin, and the coffee table and bar stools (set up on the balcony) are from Mobexpert.
