The mastermind behind The Guitar Hotel's iconic design is Las Vegas-based architecture firm Klai Juba Wald. Renowned architect Steve Peck envisioned a structure that would become a landmark for South Florida, instantly recognizable and forever linked to the vibrant music scene.
The design is a stroke of brilliance in its simplicity. Two imposing guitar bodies, clad in a shimmering mosaic of lights, lean against each other, with necks visually extending towards the sky with rooftop light cannons. Building the Dream: Engineering a Musical Wonder
Transforming Peck's vision into reality was no easy feat. The curved nature of the guitar shape presented a significant challenge for engineers. Traditional straight columns were insufficient. Instead, the team developed a system of specially designed inclined columns that support the structure while maintaining the instrument's smooth curves.
