Some stories need time to be told. With every emotion and journey, with every object collected or created, they take shape and, at some point, when they meet the right artisan, they choose to settle gently in well-arranged settings are the words I use to describe another project of Cristina's some time ago. Perfectly valid in this case as well!

This time, however, we are talking about a summer kitchen (a place for relaxation and dining) where the owners wanted to integrate a real collection of souvenirs and objects with stories, some brought from travels, others kept from childhood or received as gifts from loved ones.

The old building was destroyed by a storm so they decided to rebuild it from scratch and in this sense they called on Cristina's help.

We started the discussion with the functionality of the space and we discovered that the two wanted a pergola that they could occasionally use even in the cold season, with a kitchen, a generous dining area, a small bar and a relaxation corner. Another important piece is the stove, which they wanted both to heat the space and to bake all sorts of goodies in it.

Special attention was paid to the connection between the interior of the kitchen and the garden. The glass doors, the numerous windows and the minibar (made at one of the windows) were some of the solutions found to make this transition as natural as possible.

The green roof of the building, as Cristina says, is also a solution that helps maintain a pleasant temperature inside during the summer”. The total budget for it was approximately 2000 euros, which includes labor, materials needed for installation and soil.

I was happy to discover in the owners both passion and skill for handmade and DIY. Many decorations were made by them after photographs and ideas suggested by me, creations that at first may have seemed difficult to realize, but which proved to be beautiful challenges for their talent.

Finally, because the owner works in the aviation field, a great passion of his, we decided to name the new relaxation space "Hangar B747", in honor of what he considers "the most beautiful plane, also known as Queen of the Sky".
