As apartments and kitchens vary greatly in terms of layout and size, so do the challenges we face when furnishing them and choosing appliances. Limited space often makes this task difficult.
One of the most common dilemmas faced by those decorating their kitchen is where to place the refrigerator.
It's hard to imagine a kitchen without a refrigerator, so finding the right spot for it in the layout is essential.
To make this task easier, let's briefly recall the work zones in a kitchen: the cooking zone represented by the stove or hob, the washing zone or wet zone including the sink and/or dishwasher, and the food storage zone represented by the refrigerator and optionally a freezer chest.
In most apartments here, kitchens range in size from 6 to 10 square meters, hence the difficulty of arranging these three zones efficiently.
One of the most common furniture configurations in our kitchens is the linear one. In this case, the refrigerator can be placed at one end of the room, either towards the door or towards the window. Attention! Avoid placing the refrigerator next to the stove or hob! Over time, you risk damaging the appliance or reducing its performance.
Similarly, attention should be paid to a possible positioning near the window, especially in kitchens facing south or southwest and particularly during summer.
Another common placement is the L-shape. In this case as well, the refrigerator can be placed at one end of the furniture, while ensuring the efficiency of each work zone.
