The more useful something is, the more problems it can cause when it breaks down. The central heating boiler is one of those appliances we've become accustomed to and which significantly improves our lives, but to a degree we only realize when it stops working.
During winter, any malfunction in the boiler must be resolved urgently so you can heat your home. But even in summer, having problems with the boiler is unpleasant, as it's very uncomfortable to be left without hot water. Some failures can be costly, while others are easily fixed. Here are some of the most common malfunctions of a central heating boiler and how you can fix them:
Essential parts malfunctioning
Some problems that arise with central heating boilers are caused by parts that no longer function properly or at all. Most likely, when this happens, the part in question needs to be replaced. This is not one of the operations you can do yourself. In fact, it is completely contraindicated.
Current legislation stipulates that only companies authorized by I SC IR can carry out installation and repair interventions on central heating boilers.
For example, it happens that central heating boilers don't work because of heat exchangers that need to be replaced. Therefore, you will have to purchase a heat exchanger suitable for the model of your boiler and, on the other hand, call on the services of an authorized company to handle the installation of the part.
Lack of pressure
You can easily check if your boiler has too low pressure, but how you do it depends on the boiler. Most models have a water manometer, but newer models display pressure information on a digital display. The lower the pressure drops, the higher the chances that the boiler will not start.
Usually, it will stop if the pressure value falls below 0.8 bar; normally, the pressure should be between 1-2 bar.
