We all know the benefits that come with solar panels installed in the home heating systems. With the help of solar collectors over a third of the energy needed in a year for heating and hot water preparation can be saved, significantly saving the family budget.

But what do we do if at some point we don't need all the captured energy and the collector starts to overheat?

Viessmann has the solution! The leading heating system manufacturer has developed a technology that protects solar panels from extremely high temperatures. Models featuring this new German technology, called Therm Protect, are Vitosol 100-F M and Vitosol 200-F M.

What does Therm Protect mean?

Viessmann's patented Therm Protect technology consists of an intelligent coating layer that protects solar panels from overheating.

Therefore, Therm Protect disconnects the solar collectors when the temperature reaches 75 degrees Celsius, the point at which the crystalline structure of the covering surface begins to change, significantly increasing the reflectivity of solar rays and leading to a decrease in heat absorption.

The collector's maximum operating temperature being lower eliminates the risk of vapor formation in the solar circuit.
