When it comes to sleep and rest in general, the darker a bedroom is, the better, as light affects melatonin production, the hormone responsible for regulating the sleep cycle. But what do we do with the bedroom during the day? This is a very common problem in people's homes that can be solved with the help of some simple tricks.

Use lamps. If your bedroom doesn't receive enough natural light, then install two or three lamps in the bedroom. Try to place them at the corners of an equilateral triangle. Two on the wall and one on the ceiling. If you don't want to place sconces on the wall, then, besides the chandelier, put a lamp next to the bed and one diagonally across the room.

Choose wall colors intelligently. Although this might be the general impression, white walls are not a good solution for a dark bedroom. You need a saturated color. Out of all the shades of the chosen color, don't opt for the lightest or the darkest shade, choose one from the middle range. With the help of light, bring it to life.

Use mirrors. In the room, place a mirror on the wall opposite the one with the window to reflect light. If that doesn't help, place it in front of a lamp.

Choose curtains, blinds or drapes carefully. Although you might be tempted to choose matte drapes in dark colors, it would be advisable to take them matte but in lighter colors.
