Designed for a young couple with busy professional lives, the two-room apartment is located in Wroclaw, Poland. It doesn't have many square meters, which contributed to prioritizing hidden storage spaces and choosing materials and colors.
In terms of layout, the apartment consists of a matrimonial bedroom, living area (living room and dining space), an open kitchen, bathroom, and toilet (where the laundry was integrated). Creating this open space allowed for good communication between rooms, visually amplifying the space.
Architectural Concept
At the heart of the architectural concept is functionality, the need to maximize every square meter, and the desire of the owners to immerse themselves in a relaxing, visually pleasing atmosphere after a tiring workday.
Thus, the color palette was carefully developed to create the atmosphere of a 'relaxing cloud': white predominates with shades of gray and blue, in various textures that contrast harmoniously.
The option for a light shade of wood gives the entire design a sense of more space and brightness. Being a leitmotif of the concept, it is found in the flooring, furniture, and architectural details. The parquet is used in all rooms (except the bathrooms) with the role of harmoniously unifying the areas.
Every corner of the house that remained free was used as an integrated storage space, at the request of the beneficiaries to have enough storage systems. The hallway with a generous width was also used for this purpose, with an entire wall with hidden storage spaces and a mirror that amplifies the actual dimensions.
Living Area Design
The living room, as the nucleus of the house, is airy and bright, furnished in pastel colors. The use of wood as an accent for the niche behind the sofa adds extra comfort and closeness to nature. The console under the television is fixed to the wall and without a base, it appears to float, providing more space.
A tall, decorative radiator was chosen, which doesn't take up much space and elegantly contributes to the overall atmosphere.
The soft and comfortable sofa with many decorative cushions, and the artisan coffee tables (solid wood top with welded metal legs), together with minimalist lighting fixtures that don't overload the space, ensure and encourage relaxation. As a key element in the living room, the sofa may appear massive, but it is well integrated into the proposed ambiance.
Designing the kitchen was a real challenge for the designers. With an atypical shape, a triangular layout, and modest dimensions, it is delimited from the living room by a bar finished in natural wood. White furniture with wall-mounted units up to the ceiling line compensates for the lack of space.
Matrimonial Bedroom
The bedroom continues the stylistic line of the living area, with a neutral color palette and turquoise accents. The gray textile material used for the headboard is the only element that contrasts with the brightness of the entire room. The discreet geometric pattern on the wall behind the bed highlights the furniture and contributes to creating a relaxing atmosphere.
