Basil is one of the most used spices in food, and if you are passionate about Italian cuisine, there's no way you can't plant some basil right at home, whether you have a generous garden available or even if you live in an apartment.
This plant is extremely easy to grow, without too much effort, and the satisfaction is one to match, especially when you will enjoy the fresh taste of basil planted and grown with your own hands and resources.
You don't need a very large space available, in fact, you will only need a pot, two or three, depending on how many plants you want to plant. Basil will need very fertile soil with very good drainage, which you can find at any specialty store, in case you don't already have it available.

If you decide to plant it in an apartment, make sure you position the pot in front of a south-facing window to benefit from several hours of sunlight each day.
The basil plant must be introduced into the pot after removing some of the soil in which it is initially located, to free the roots and allow them to enter the new soil, after which it must be covered with soil up to the level at which it was initially held in the nursery.
