Brussels sprouts are a vegetable that has been part of the Romanian diet for a long time and is no longer considered an exotic vegetable that was not grown in our country.
Given that Romania is an extremely favorable environment for this small and tasty cabbage, if you have a garden around your house, Brussels sprouts are among the easiest vegetables to plant and grow.
The best part about Brussels sprouts is that you don't need a lot of space in the garden, and they can grow in just about any type of soil that has some natural fertilizer in it.
The first step in planting Brussels sprouts is to tamp down the soil well with a rake to create the framework in which the small plant will be introduced into the soil. Space each plant about half a meter apart from each other to ensure they don't compete for water and nutrients.
Remove the plant from the pot and place it in the ground in a shallow hole dug by hand. Once placed in the ground, the Brussels sprout should be covered with the excess soil left over from digging the hole, covering it even over the soil from the pot it came in.
Now that you have the small sprouts in the ground, all you have to do is water them abundantly and make sure you repeat this process in the following days until the plant starts to grow tall.
