The first thing you should do before thinking about planting strawberries is to check the quality of your soil, as the optimal pH for strawberries is 6.2. It is not absolutely necessary to meet this criterion, but you will have to make sure that the soil in which you plant the strawberries is well fertilized so that the plant has something to feed on.
If you buy a plant from specialized stores, you will receive some long roots with a small crown of leaves. The roots must be planted in a hole exactly their size, it being necessary for them to stand straight and unbent at the moment they are introduced into the ground.
If some strands of the root are a little longer, you can easily cut them, but it is not recommended to cut more than a quarter of the initial root. The plant must be introduced into the soil up to the middle of the crown of leaves.
If you plant it too deep, the plant will die because it is in the growth stage and will be suffocated, and if you plant it with the roots slightly outside, they will dry out and the plant will not resist very long.
