Watermelons, these voluminous, juicy and delicious fruits are always a suitable choice for your garden, especially if you live in the southern part of the country, particularly in the Braila and Ploiesti areas, regions with a tradition of watermelon cultivation in Romania.

Known also as green melons or watermelons, watermelons are an excellent choice for any gardening enthusiast, whether experienced or beginner.

The first step when deciding to plant watermelons is to thoroughly fragment the soil, to ensure it will have good drainage and that the watermelon roots will be able to easily make their way through the soil.

After fragmenting the soil, you should add about 20-30 liters of fertilizer and mix it lightly with the underlying soil using a fork, making gentle movements from the wrist.

Once the natural fertilizer has been placed and mixed with the soil in your garden, you should also use a good fertilizer, as watermelons are plants that need a lot of nutrients to grow large, voluminous and juicy.
