Open GalleryWhen you live in an apartment building, spaces are small, and kitchens are no exception. Therefore, the arrangements are adapted to the existing dimensions, and certain styles are harder to render. However, the creative solutions of the designers demonstrate that there are no limits when you want to achieve your much-desired decor.
Proof is this 14 square meter kitchen approached in an ingenious way, creating a pleasant, functional and comfortable living space.
In the existing space, a cooking area was outlined, a place for dining, but also a corner for reading or relaxation with an armchair and lamp. We practically have three different areas harmoniously integrated into the initial space of the kitchen. The doors were replaced, and the kitchen delimited by a glass partition, imitating a window area.
The room thus remains bright, and the light colors amplify the space.
For the kitchen, the arrangement follows a simple, functional line. The furniture is arranged in the shape of the letter U, with three sides that ensure efficient space for cooking and storage. The decor outlined reminds us of the rustic style, with its wood, large windows and natural textiles inspired by nature. Here we are talking about a reinterpreted style, which could be adapted and applied to an apartment kitchen.
The appliances are built-in to maintain a unitary and orderly character. The exception is the hood, whose design inspires this rustic idea. The wooden countertop combined with the white front of the cabinets and the soft shades on the walls imprint warmth on the decor.
Metal supports for utensils and spices, the sink faucet, the idea of some curtains in the glass cabinet doors or the cupboard with exposed dishes are just a few of the elements that outline this rustic-modern story.
Textures and colors play an important role in this arrangement. The yellow of the armchair, the green of the drapes and the lighting fixtures, as well as the textiles (see curtains and drapes) create an intimate, comfortable, relaxing area in the space imagined as a veranda.
