Most bathrooms in our apartments are modest spaces with 3.5 or 4 square meters available, where we need to integrate sanitary installations, storage space and sometimes even a washing machine. We need a functional space but also one that is pleasantly decorated.
Before starting any bathroom renovation process, consult professionals: visit specialty stores, talk to a plumber, see what range of sinks, faucets, bathtubs or shower cabins are available on the market. But most importantly, set a budget. Whirlpool shower cabins are wonderful, but so is the price.
It's good to have a realistic approach and consult as many sources as possible for bathroom design so that you can successfully complete the renovation.
In 4 square meters or less, it will be difficult to define a particular style of decoration. In fact, designers recommend using a minimalist style with little furniture, sanitary ware in sizes adapted to the size and shape of the bathroom space. Light colors, predominantly white, glossy finishes and adapted furniture, with sliding doors or an open shelf system built into a niche.
Professionals also recommend choosing products before pouring the screed and installing tiles and ceramics. Select products based on measurements and consult a plumber who can advise you on taps and pipes in case of replacements inherent to the renovation.
For a modern bathroom, opt for a sink that is mounted on a countertop. You can choose a cabinet with drawers to store toiletries and the most used items in the bathroom. In the case of a small bathroom, you can try a suspended version to create the impression of more space at floor level.
In regard to the bathtub the final choice should be a combination of appearance, comfort, durability, ease of maintenance and cost. One of the most well-known is the acrylic bathtub; it is easy to maintain, retains its shine for a long time, and cleans easily. In addition, it can be repaired in case of scratches.
