The project developed by IKEA presents, based on research conducted in Great Britain, how the kitchen of the future, specifically that of 2025, will look. Called the "thinking kitchen," it will be like a technological friend to humans, making their lives more organized and healthy.
In the vision of IKEA specialists, the kitchen of the future will not only think for us but will also think with us, anticipating physical, mental, and emotional needs.
This futuristic concept presupposes the existence in the kitchens of 2025 of intelligent recycling systems that automatically separate waste, energy monitoring, and the existence of new energy sources, plant cultivation devices, and longer-lasting food storage and preservation methods.
In addition to these principles – a return to nature, smart devices, physical and mental health at the highest level – the project also presents ways in which the futuristic kitchen fuses with the emotional side of humans. Thus, in over 10 years, the kitchen ceiling will project the image of a sunset, while the walls will emit therapeutic smells and sounds.
What caught attention was a kitchen table, "a table for living." It identifies foods, projects cooking instructions, suggests recipes based on the ingredients on the table, weighs them, and even includes an induction hob. The intelligent table will not only be used for cooking and serving meals but will also be a play area for children.
