Doors are present in every home, as we all need a safe entry point into our dwelling or spaces that delimit one room from another, offering safety and intimacy within the comfort of our own homes.
Being a ubiquitous element in our homes, doors wear out quite quickly compared to other elements in the house, because we use them daily, every time we enter or exit a room, from the kitchen or from the bathroom.
Considering the high degree of wear and tear on the doors in our household, they need to be replaced often, as their appearance deteriorates over time, offering a major drawback to the overall interior and exterior design of the house.
What do we do when we get a new door? What do we do with the old one? Do we throw it away or use it as firewood?
Old doors can have countless uses in our home even after they no longer serve their initial purpose of providing privacy in rooms and an elegant and charming entrance to any space.
An old door, especially if it is made of solid wood, can be easily reused, being transformed into other furniture items, decorations for the house and garden, or simply becoming a splash of vintage color!
These used objects can very easily become, by using DIY – Do It Yourself methods, extremely elegant and chic tables, very beautiful and well-compartmentalized wardrobes, various indoor and outdoor storage spaces, decorations for the bedroom, libraries and even very comfortable sofas for a bohemian living room or a summer garden.
Given the large number of possibilities through which an old door can be reconditioned and reused, we advise you to find inspiration in one of these DIY projects and start doing something with your own hands, together with the whole family.
