Many times, I have encountered this prejudice that white is cold, impersonal and unsuitable for a home interior. Nothing could be further from the truth, or rather, it's simply misinterpreted. Our response comes in the form of this design: a modern, bright apartment, excellently showcased with white.
Open GalleryWe chose this 3-bedroom apartment to illustrate that white can be the best ally in an interior design, especially one that doesn't benefit from abundant natural light. White is the ideal backdrop for bringing in colorful accent pieces, such as a sofa or a table with a unique design.
Works of art, paintings or sculptures stand out in a decor that allows them to tell their story. White is neither dull nor boring when accompanied by textures and colors, enriching the sensory experience of the space.
With a panoramic view of the sea, it's no wonder that white and blue accents dominate the interiors of this home. It's the refuge of a writer who lives alone, and he wanted the space to be a simple, modern design with a workspace overlooking the sea, but also a place for socializing and welcoming friends.
Whitewashed brick gives texture to the walls, while accent lighting highlights this feature, adding warmth and light to the space. Opening up the living area increases the sense of spaciousness and brightness.
At the same time, the living area is visually separated from the kitchen area. The space between them is large enough to allow for an extension of a table, normally tucked inside the kitchen island.
The cooking area is a minimalist treated space with a unified design, featuring white glossy fronts and built-in appliances. Ample storage space, plenty of natural light, and an island unit housing the sink and hob. To mask these areas, a bar-type countertop has been installed at a suitable height.
Industrial-style lighting fixtures happily complete the entire design conceived for this function.
Also in the living area, a desk has been incorporated by the window and a reading nook with recessed lights for an unconventional bookcase.
