For a perfect decor, curtains and/or drapes play a decisive role. They influence or, as the case may be, enhance the amount of natural light that penetrates the interior of our home. In addition, the pattern, color, and shape will influence the arrangement of the respective room. Today we are reviewing some solutions that will bring quality and comfort to our interiors.
We were saying that drapes or curtains influence a decor. If a room doesn't receive enough natural light, then the windows shouldn't be suffocated with curtains and drapes. You can choose translucent curtains, made of a light, diaphanous material that allows light to penetrate easily into the room. They can be colored or white.
Do you want your windows to appear larger than they are? Mount the curtains as high as possible, almost to the ceiling, and let them fall all the way to the floor. The optical effect obtained is that of a wider window. Choose a neutral color that you can match with the sofa (a cream or beige would be recommended).
If it seems to you that drapes are overloading the room and you want a more airy space, you can opt for blinds. Choose according to your preferences. Opaque ones for protection against strong sunlight hitting the window, or on the contrary, just a transparent material that doesn't block your panoramic view.
To enhance the effect of elegance and spectacle, you can choose a rich drapery or curtain material with sumptuous folds that will uniquely dress the window and the space around it. Our proposal: silk or voile curtains and drapes in similar tones.
When intense brightness becomes a problem in a home, there is the option of doubling the light filtration. Thus, blinds are installed in the first phase and subsequently a thick drape to obtain maximum effect.
Roman shades or blinds are attracting more and more followers. It's true, the effect on the decor is remarkable. Placed horizontally and raised only halfway, they offer a pleasant sensation and atmosphere. In addition, the fine touch of the material (depending on the desired texture) increases the refinement of a room.
For attic windows, you can also opt for blinds. To play with the effects on the room, choose black blinds for the windows facing the sloping portion, and white ones for the regular ones (see the illustrated model in the gallery).
Another interesting idea we propose is that of Japanese panels. Constructively, they are vertical panels made of textile material that slide on a system of parallel rails. Color and transparency level are factors to consider when deciding on such a solution to enhance the windows of your home.
