To transform a small bedroom into a functional and comfortable one is not as difficult as it may seem. Here are some tricks you can apply to furnish your own sleeping area.

Light colors. Use white or cream with confidence! These options represent the ideal base for a small bedroom. The room will appear larger and brighter – exactly the effect you need for your room. Later, you can add color accents through furniture or accessories.

Mirrors. One of the most effective tricks you can apply in the bedroom or any small space. Mirrors reflect light and create the impression of depth, and the space will seem larger than it actually is. How can you incorporate them into the design? At the level of wardrobe doors, above the bed, on the wall opposite the bed, here are just a few ideas to inspire you.

Furniture adapted to the space. If your bedroom is no more than 9 square meters, choose furniture pieces according to the size of the room. For example, you can choose a bed with a width of 140 cm instead of 180 cm. This way, you won't risk the space feeling suffocated by the bed or not having room to move around it.

To have extra space for pillows and blankets, you can choose a model with storage or drawers. Another very useful idea could be creating a raised platform and placing the bed on it; this creates multiple storage spaces.

Storage optimization. Small spaces are not the most friendly when it comes to storage.

Take advantage of every opportunity you can find to create new, useful storage spaces: under the bed, in a platform as mentioned above, in a specially created niche, above the bedroom door in a storage system that also includes wardrobes, built-in shelves, bookcases, suspended bodies around the bed. Any creative and functional solution is welcome.
