Do you hit the snooze button three times before waking up? Do you drink five coffees a day and still feel tired? If you answer yes to these questions, then you are probably not sleeping well. We share six useful tricks that will help you have a peaceful sleep (and yes, the smell of the room where you sleep is an important factor in the equation!).

Open GalleryRegardless of age, a good night's sleep is not within everyone's reach. And sleep quality is influenced by lifestyle, diet, nervous system function, medication, and the environment in which you rest.

In other words, dinner, daytime agitation, stress from the office, but also the way your bedroom looks or smells play an important role in the peace between the sheets. What can you do to have a good night's sleep?

1. Try to go to bed at roughly the same time every evening. This is also valid for those days when you know you have to wake up earlier than usual. Stressed by morning meetings, your body is on alert and you can't fall asleep, even if, in theory, you sneak under the covers a little earlier.

2. Pay attention to your diet and the "stimulants" at dinner. Don't drink coffee if you know you can't sleep afterwards, don't consume too much wine and don't smoke – all of these are stimulants that make you restless and prevent you from falling asleep. If you don't smoke, don't start. If you do smoke, quit. Or find a smoke-free alternative (see more on www.unsmoke.ro).

3. Air out the room where you sleep every evening for at least 15 minutes, regardless of the temperature outside. It is important not to smoke in the room where you sleep (and don't let your partner or friends do it either!).

If, however, the party has heated up and the smoke has reached the room, we give you some practical tips to help you get rid of unpleasant odors.
