Gardens are so popular that for some time now they are no longer considered practical only for those who live in houses. Anyone who wants can have a garden, big or small, even if they live in an apartment.

As proof, vegetable gardens on rooftops have become a trend, a phenomenon, in Western countries, where more and more young gardeners, beginners or experienced, are creating a garden on the roofs of the buildings they live in.

These young Canadians built a vegetable garden on the roof, approximately 167 square meters, and the results of their work are extremely satisfactory, declaring themselves extremely happy with their idea of taking up gardening.

Having some experience and studies in architecture and landscape design behind them, the young Canadians aim not to stop here, trying to build more gardens on the roofs of buildings where space allows and considering the harvest of vegetables grown with their own hands, this action is completely understandable.

The vegetable garden set up by them was born in the spring of 2010, on the roof of the Parts & Labour restaurant, in the center of the Canadian city of Toronto. Now they have come to grow radishes, carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers and a multitude of other vegetables, intended for both their own consumption and for the kitchen of the restaurant above which they are planted.

These vegetables, grown on the roof of the restaurant, are extremely healthy and tasty, using only organic fertilizer materials, and the difference in taste compared to vegetables bought from hypermarkets is a noticeable one, a fact confirmed even by the restaurant's loyal customers.

Such extremely creative and inventive solutions are practical at the same time, aesthetically pleasing and help protect the environment, to which we can add the economic advantages to create a complete range of advantages and benefits that everyone enjoys.
