Autonomous homes are gaining more and more ground compared to conventional homes, as they are a long-term investment, and renewable energy and eco-friendly homes represent the future for many.
Casa Pump," as this autonomous weekend residence is called, is located in the rural area of Victoria, Australia. Enjoying a very hot climate, solar panels are extremely beneficial for this house, providing the necessary energy for a peaceful weekend.
The design of this autonomous home was created by Branch Studio Architects which was initially conceived to be a storage room for the water pump and the equipment needed to maintain this property in optimal conditions.
As the owners began spending more and more time there, and desiring for a long time to have a space of their own where they could retreat to enjoy tea while admiring the picturesque landscape offered by the Australian continent, before going out for a horseback ride.
Using a limited budget, the team of architects reimagined the entire property, transforming it into a secluded and very welcoming residence. With the front and back walls completely polished, the house offers exceptional living space, opening up horizons towards simply captivating surroundings.
Without compromising the simplicity of this house, the architects used all the necessary materials to transform it into an autonomous one, which the owners can enjoy at any time in peace, and their guests always feel welcome.
The contrast between the rigid exterior like a bunker and the large windows offers a wonderful view, both for those inside the autonomous house and for those looking at it from the outside.
The design of the entire house is very simple, and that was the idea, to emanate simplicity and a perfect blend with the surrounding environment, both in terms of appearance and through the use of renewable and eco-friendly energy as much as possible.
