After several years of living in Japan, this family decided to return home and furnish their dream home for themselves and their two children. They turned to Ariana and Tatiana, an architect and interior designer respectively, for support and guidance in realizing this project.
The years spent immersed in Japanese culture left its mark on their lifestyle and implicitly on the concept of living. Thus, the main requirements for their new home share concepts specific to Eastern culture: minimalism, brightness, functionality.
The 4-room apartment has a generous surface area. Therefore, the design focused on outlining the common spaces in the living area and sketching each bedroom individually.
Since the space benefits from an extensive glazed surface and an impressive panoramic view, the designers decided to highlight these features through a minimalist approach to the interior design. Thus, the entire living area benefits from plenty of natural light and the lack of partitions makes the space appear spacious and airy.
Lighting, both natural and artificial, becomes architectural, outlining unique shapes and frames at every moment of the day, with each detail in the decor being highlighted.
The neutral color scheme includes light shades of beige and gray, as well as natural wood essences that bring warmth to the space. Textures play an important role in this design. The textile wallpaper covering part of the living room walls blends excellently with the furniture pieces. The design, arrangement, and especially the combination of close tones surprise through originality.
Decorations discreetly remind us of Japanese culture.
The kitchen space communicates directly with the living room, the delimitation being made only at the floor level through ceramic tiles that imitate wood and tiles reminiscent of natural stone. The lines of the furniture are simple and follow the general theme adopted.
Built-in appliances, compact design that pursues a visual unity and an island-type unit - this is a brief description of an open kitchen, in the purest minimalist style.
The sleeping area adopts the color scheme used for the living room, and even the furniture design. The airy space inspires well-being and relaxation through the palette of neutrals and the same lighting that has almost a decorative function in the overall design. The best word to describe the bathrooms is pampering.
Ceramic tiles imitating stone, excellent lighting, and functional amenities - this is a brief description of modern designs that are true sources of inspiration.
This interior design proves once again that by opting for a neutral approach you can never go wrong, and moreover, you will be able to bring personality to your home through details and accessories that you can change whenever you feel the need for a change.
